Agentic Platform Engineering
Internal developer platforms used to be tools on a shelf: a portal, a pipeline, a wiki. Agentic platform engineering is the evolution from that shelf into an ecosystem that can reason, plan, and act — with governance built in.
It is the architecture behind everything Adventure On The Wave builds.
The core loop
Sense → Think → Act
- Sense (perception layer) — ingesting telemetry, logs, and state; building the working picture the platform reasons over.
- Think (reasoning engine) — LLM-driven planning that turns intent into ordered, auditable actions.
- Act (action module) — RBAC-scoped execution against real systems, where every action is authorized, logged, and reversible.
The loop is closed by memory (what the platform knows, versioned like code) and governance (what it may do without asking). Without those two, it is a demo with credentials.
Three pillars
Autonomous orchestration
Multi-step operations execute without a human initiating each step — with the boundaries of the action module enforced structurally, not promptingly. Autonomy is granted per-task and auditable per-run.
Predictive self-healing
Diagnostics run before issues become incidents: the platform watches its own telemetry and acts within its permissions to resolve what it can, escalating what it cannot.
Knowledge as a product
Documentation becomes standardized, machine-readable input that powers agent intelligence — not a wiki humans read and agents ignore.
The canonical resource
The framework is developed in depth at agenticplatformengineering.com — a strategic innovation by Adventure On The Wave, covering the perception–reasoning–action architecture, RBAC, persistent memory, and telemetry as one coherent platform model.
This page is the entry point; that site is the reference.
Proven in working systems
The model is not aspirational. Turbo Rig is an agentic platform for software engineering: perception (repo state, CI, logs), reasoning (multiple builder models), action (gated PRs — never direct pushes), memory (git-versioned), governance (a written constitution with human-only merges). Ancuria applies the same shape to a commercial SaaS.
Talk it through with someone who runs this stack on his own systems every day.
